Climb CarihuairazoGuided expedition · Ecuador

Climb Carihuairazo, a striking 5,018 m peak whose name means 'deer's head' in Kichwa, standing right beside Chimborazo. This guided Carihuairazo expedition by PEAKS combines a scenic lagoon camp, real high-altitude terrain and one of the best sunrise views of Chimborazo anywhere in Ecuador.

We camp beside a highland lagoon with a hot-water contrast therapy session, brief technique in the afternoon, then start the summit push before dawn with a light 25 L pack. Guiding runs with certified national mountain guides and our own high-end equipment.

Carihuairazo is an ideal acclimatisation summit before Chimborazo or Cotopaxi, and a rewarding objective in its own right for climbers building toward the bigger glaciated peaks of the Avenue of the Volcanoes.
